American College of Physicians Selects Practice Partner Patient Records
McKesson’s EHR Solution Included in ACP’s Newly Created EHR Partners Program

ATLANTA, June 13,2008 - McKesson is one of eight certified electronic health record (EHR) vendors initially selected to participate in the American College of Physicians’ EHR Partners Program. The announcement was made during the ACP’s Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. in May 2008.

ACP’s EHR Partners Programs is designed to help physicians compare products, solutions and costs in an effort to purchase an electronic health record (EHR) system. The EHR Partners Program was created in response to ACP members’ request for guidance in selecting and implementing practice-based EHRs and is offered exclusively to ACP members. All participating EHR companies are certified by the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT).

“We believe ACP’s new program will provide physicians with a trusted source to obtain quality information about EHRs and help physicians find the best fit for their practice,” said David Henriksen, senior vice president, general manager, McKesson Physician Practice Solutions. “We’re pleased that McKesson Practice Partner is included in this effort to leverage technology and increase adoption that will ultimately enhance patient care.”

McKesson’s Practice Partner Patient Records allows practices to replace paper charts with a flexible and comprehensive electronic health record utilized nationwide by thousands of medical practices. Practice Partner can enhance office productivity and help improve the quality of care. Refined by over a decade of feedback from an involved community of users, Practice Partner is designed to automate both the clinical and business operations of a modern medical practice.
