Andrew Ury, M.D., Assumes New Leadership Role for Practice Partner and McKesson Provider Technology

Andy Ury, M.D., will be assuming a new role for McKesson Provider Technologies as chief medical officer for Physician Practice Solutions (PPS), a division of MPT. Dr. Ury has led the Practice PartnerŪ organization since its founding in 1983 and will be transitioning from his role as vice president/general manager into his new responsibilities effective July 1, 2008.

In his new responsibilities, Dr. Ury will provide strategic direction to PPS leadership and McKesson senior leadership regarding the ambulatory market and the needs of the medical community as McKesson and Practice Partner rapidly increase their presence in the ambulatory market. Dr. Ury will continue his close involvement in product design and planning. He will also continue his leadership roles with the Commission Certification for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), the Electronic Health Record Vendor Association (EHRVA), and several other industry organizations.

Bing Teng will assume the role of vice president/general manager of Practice Partner and will be responsible for the daily operations of this business unit as part of PPS and MPT. Bing has already been working in the Practice Partner group for the last year as a senior manager and chief operation officer. Bing has been with McKesson for 10 years since arriving at McKesson through the acquisition of ALI Technologies, and served as vice president and general manager for the Enterprise Imaging Group (EIG) before joining the Practice Partner group a year ago. Bing has a strong background in helping McKesson businesses successfully scale while sustaining a high level of customer service.
